Caught in the Net
a comedy by Ray Cooney. Performed 20th to 25th November 2006.
John Smith is a bigamous taxi driver. The action takes place simultaneously in his two homes, in Streatham and Wimbledon. He lives in Streatham with his wife Barbara and son Gavin, and in Wimbledon with wife Mary and daughter Vicki. Stanley is his lodger in Wimbledon. It is a warm summer afternoon.
By Martin Jones, chairman: “Ten years ago we presented a farce called Run for Your Wife which told the story of a taxi driver who juggled his life between two wives in two separate houses in two different parts of London. Caught in the Net catches up with him some twenty years later, where we find him in the same tricky situation. I am pleased to welcome Sarah Bucknall as a newcomer to the stage.”
